SAICE Johannesburg branch hosted lecture based on a project that was put together by Mr Gideon de Villiers and Mr Eric Brits, which is the the acid mine drainage. The project required alot of time, equipment and also there is always a lot of planning that had to be done before putting the plan into action. More especially with this project the pumps needed for the project weren't exactly the size required therefore the speed wasn't as fast as it should've been. Which is why there is still alot to be done. After the water has been drained, it goes through numerous stages to extract acid and salt thereafter the water is put back into rivers.
