2017 SAICE Infrastructure Report Card

The IRC deals with all of the country's infrastructure and is put together by a team of the best civil engineers in the field. Compiling  the report requires a lot of time and dedication. The 2017 IRC is graded accordingly to how that type of infrastructure is  and  its durability/ maintenance of arrows is explained in detail. SAICE: Women in Hard Hats High Tea

Nokukhanya@varsitytv.co.za  Twitter:@nokhumanjoms SAICE Johannesburg hosted women in high hats events at the Blue Valley Golf Estate and Country Club. The event was aimed at celebrating women making big moves in civil engineering as well as students and graduates who are in the field. During the ceremony delicious breakfast and tea was served but nothing beats the motivational talks delivered by women to women. Ntebo Ngcobo the Head of Department (HOD) of civil Engineering at the University of Johannesburg also shared her heartfelt thought and motivation during her interview with Buhle Hlatshwayo from SAICE Johannesburg TV, and mentioned that as women we are our worst competitor, we excel and are able to see our shortcomings therefore we fail to see what we can do and are good at because we focus on the negatives and nit what we are offering. SAIEE: Women in male dominated industries

 Nokukhanya@varsitytv.co.za  Twitter: @nokhumanjoms August is of course women's month, and what better way to celebrate then women empowering each other.  The South African Institute of electrical Engineers (SAIEE) held a function of which was hosted Michelle Govender a professional engineer who works for ESKOM holdings and is a member of SAIEE, explained how women must work twice as harder than men, how you must always strive for the top and always be productive if they are in male dominated industry.  Co-host Tshegofatso Cornelius also touched base on the 1956 march against unjust laws by women who marched to the Pretoria Union Buildings and helped established women as part of the apartheid democratic movement. SAICE: Avant-Garde Forum 2017

                  Nokukhanya@varsitytv.co.za Twitter: @nokhumanjoms The SAICE Avant-garde forum means the grouping that is primarily involved with the advancement of its field of expertise, mainly through the unorthodox or experimental methods. The forum showcases young professionals giving an overview of the projects that they are involved in, with the focus of the presentation looking at what they contributed for the project to become a  success. Which is what happened in August the forum had a group of professionals and took a look on a variety of projects presented by of-course young  professional who put in the work and share their walks also take  questions from the attendees. Presentations were delivered by the likes of Sbongile Gumbi who is an environmental scientist, Kirsten Milne a civil engineer by profession and Sisanda Dyubhele a technologist in pavement design.
